Chambered in 7.62 NATO / .308 Win., the SFAR features a 16.1-inch cold hammer-forged 4140 chrome-moly steel barrel with ultra-precise 5R rifling. The heavy-profile barrel is finished with black nitride for enhanced durability and ease of cleaning. It includes a Ruger® 2-port Boomer muzzle brake with 5/8"-24 threads, compatible with various muzzle devices and suppressors.
Receiver and Bolt Assembly:
The upper receiver is crafted from 7075-T6 hard-coat anodized aluminum, featuring a brass deflector, forward assist, and full-length Picatinny rail. The bolt and barrel extensions are CNC-machined from high-strength super alloy steel, with tapered lug geometry to support larger short-action cartridges. The bolt carrier assembly includes a chrome-lined 8620 steel bolt carrier, nitride-processed gas key, and a DLC-coated titanium firing pin for long service life.
Handguard and Stock:
Equipped with a 15-inch Lite aluminum free-float handguard featuring Magpul® M-LOK® accessory attachment slots at the 3, 6, and 9 o'clock positions. The top rail is docked in the center for improved grip access and reduced weight, maintaining Picatinny rail sections at the front and rear. Sockets for Quick Detach (QD) sling swivels are located at the muzzle end of the handguard. The rifle also includes a Magpul MOE SL® stock and MOE® grip for enhanced ergonomics.
Gas System:
Features a 4-position rotary-regulator gas block to achieve ideal function across a wide range of ammunition, whether running the rifle clean, dirty, suppressed, or unsuppressed. An on-board 3/16" ball-end wrench is included for easy regulator adjustment.
Trigger:
Comes with a Ruger Elite 452® two-stage trigger, delivering a smooth, crisp 4.5-pound pull. A full-strength hammer spring and lightweight hammer ensure fast lock times and consistent primer ignition.
